Old ten character or new twelve digit. It reads the date of birth, gender, age, voter eligibility and the new format equivalent from the numbering rules themselves, so the answer is arithmetic, not a guess.

All four modes

Photograph an NIC, a bill or a bank letter. If there is no text layer we run Sinhala and Tamil recognition first, then hand back separate labelled fields instead of a wall of text. Copy one field, or copy the lot.

Every NIC number that comes out is re-checked against the real numbering rules, so a field either says Checked or Check this. You are never copying a hallucinated date of birth into a form.

Questions people ask first

Do I need an account?

No. Guests get 3 jobs a day with files up to 10 MB. A free account raises that to 10 jobs and 15 MB, and nothing carries a watermark on any plan.

What happens to my file after the job?

It is processed on our server, handed back to your browser, then deleted. Only Pro cloud saves are kept, and only until you delete them.

Does it work in Sinhala and Tamil?

Yes. The interface is currently in English, while text recognition still supports Sinhala and Tamil documents, so a scanned Sinhala circular can become selectable text.

How do I pay?
